This is no accident. If it were easy, then software applications would replace the human project manager. But in the same way that Microsoft WORD is nothing more than a word processor (although a very popular and successful one), then software applications such as Microsoft project 2010 can never replace the project manager.

What fascinates me, is that if you put the words ‘ms project’ into Google, then it will return a massive 43,000,000 entries. That is either an incredible amounts of websites or questions and answers about this amazing software application.
But that is not all. I first started using Microsoft Project way back in the 1980s and after a steep learning curve, found it irreplaceable as a tool to help me be successful. Not to put too fine a point on it, but looking back, I believe that my grasp of this application helped to fuel my personal project management career ahead of the pack….
